FAQ – Archiving existing documents
Existing documents stored on your computer locally or on USB/DVD or created with a graphic or text program can be easily archived using the Drag&Drop function. These documents can be archived to the mailbox or directly to the appropriate folder in the archive.
How to do this?
1. Open ELO and the Windows Explorer. Switch to the functional area Archive or Mailbox.
2. Select the file to be archived in the Explorer. Drag the file from the Explorer by holding the left mouse button pressed and drop the file to the ELO window.
3. Release the left mouse button.
It is furthermore possible to file several documents to the mailbox or to the archive using the drag&drop function. Select therefore the appropriate files in the Explorer and keep the Shift or Ctrl key pressed and drag them to ELO. When holding the Ctrl key pressed while dropping the files to the archive, the keywording dialogue will not appear.
In this way it is possible to transfer whole directories to the archive. Please note that you cannot archive directories to the functional area Mailbox, because this is not part of the database; ELO cannot create folders from this location.
